The opinions and content on this site are my own, and do not necessarily represent the views of my employer.

I'll be speaking on Microsoft StreamInsight CTP3 at the Central Pennsylvania .NET User's Group Code Camp (that's a mouthful) this Saturday, December 5, 2009.

There have been some exciting changes to StreamInsight since the CTP2 release as Charles Young points out in this post, and I'll be covering those as well as providing a general overview of StreamInsight and what it may do for your application environment.

As mentioning the word "cloud" seems to garner attention and drive attendance, I should mention that we will be discussing Event Clouds and Event Streams. Ooooooh.

Look for a webcast of the presentation on this site within the next few weeks.

Hope to see you there.

I wanted to thank the Directors, Officers, and Members of BaltoMSDN for the opportunity to speak last night. We had a great time talking about StreamInsight, and the questions that were posed were really, really great.

I'll be speaking at the Baltimore user group, BaltoMSDN, on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. on Microsoft StreamInsight.

The presentation, Microsoft StreamInsight: The $5 Tour, is an extended version of my talk from CMAP Code Camp, and includes additional demos, as well as a longer discussion on building adapters and developing applications based on CTP2.

With (American) Thanksgiving only two weeks away, StreamInsight makes for a great conversational topic after a big meal.

I was recently honored to be selected by Thought Leader Richard Seroter for an inclusion in his "Four Questions with..." series.

Richard, as many of you know, is a Microsoft MVP, prolific blogger, and author of one of the best books I've read in a long time, SOA Patterns with BizTalk Server 2009 (Amazon.com, Packt Publishing).

A transcript of the interview may be found here.

Microsoft has been germinating a Complex Event Processing technology written by the SQL Server team for some time now.

The official announcement took place at Tech*Ed 2009, and an internal CTP has been floating around.

You can find the public bits (CTP2) available for download here as well as blogger Jesus Rodriguez's first thoughts here.

It also appears that MSDN has posted pre-release documentation here including Architecture images, sample scenarios, and documentation of the Microsoft.ComplexEventProcessing namespace.

I've pulled down the bits, set up a VM, and will be posting my notes shortly.
